After some objects made successfully with my first vacuum forming machine (check it here ) I needed to build a bigger one (50cm x 50cm) table. I've also built a custom "oven" to heat the plastic, it is just a wooden box with the internal walls covered with aluminum foil and a heater element in the middle that I took from an electric grill. This was also the first time I have used ABS plastic, that is much more impact resistant than the previous one (Polystyrene). I'm still using the vacuum cleaner as the vacuum source, but my next plan is to store the vacuum in a air cylinder so I can evacuate the air faster preventing failed formings.
